DTN COMMENTS: A few live bids are now on the table in Western Nebraska.  
Some dressed asking prices are noted in Eastern Nebraska at $370. The 
rest of cattle country remains quiet. Having said all of that, packer 
inquiry should continue to improve, but it is looking like significant 
trade volume will be delayed until sometime tomorrow, possibly after the 
on feed report is released at 2:00pm CST. 

Today's slaughter totaled 114,000 head, 3,000 less than last week, and 
9,000 below a year ago. Live cattle futures closed mixed, mostly lower, 
off 72 to up 2, feeder issues also ended the day mixed, but mostly 
moderately higher, up 60 to off 17. Beef cutouts are expected to close 
lower with light to moderate box movement.
